Partners in Economic Development
We are very grateful for the opportunities we have had to assist
businesses and fulfill our role in our region. Many partners have
helped us, through grants and donations, to strengthen employment in
Strafford County. We at Southeast Economic Development Corporation
wish to thank all who support our organization and ensure that we
will be able to continue our services to the community in the
future.
Citizens
Bank has been a consistent and much appreciated
partner throughout SEDC’s eleven years.
Citizens donated office space and furniture when SEDC was starting
up. Several times, Citizens has awarded SEDC with
Technical Assistance grants to provide services to area businesses
struggling towards creditworthiness. The goal of this program
has been to strengthen those companies and ensure employment
opportunities for many people in New Hampshire.

advisory board facilitating agency. Prior to founding Peer Circles,
Jesse Stevens owned and operated Pella Windows & Doors of Maine and
New Hampshire based in Somersworth. Loans to Pella from SEDC
contributed to Jesse’s ability to quadruple the size of the company
between 1996 -2006 and to provide solid employment opportunities in
the Seacoast. The product offerings of Peer Circles, LLC allow Jesse
to share his 38 years of corporate and entrepreneurial experience to
empower business owners to achieve their Visions.
The
New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority
(CDFA) supports affordable housing and economic development
activities that benefit low and moderate income citizens in New
Hampshire. CDFA awarded tax credits to SEDC to raise money with,
and a technical assistance grant. CDFA has also awarded Southeast
Economic Development Corporation ten project specific grants which
have made a significant contribution to the growth of the SEDC
Revolving Loan Fund. This partnership has supported the
formation and retention of thousands of new jobs for low and
moderate income New Hampshire residents.
The
Business Finance Authority of New Hampshire
was created in
1992 to foster economic development and create employment in New
Hampshire. The BFA accomplishes these objectives by working with New
Hampshire's banking, business, and economic development sectors to
develop and implement programs which expand the availability of
credit in the state. Southeast Economic Development Corporation
works closely with the BFA to obtain credit for larger companies
that create or retain jobs in New Hampshire but do not meet banking
standards yet. This partnership has resulted in the creation
and retention of thousands of jobs for New Hampshire people.
United States Rural Development
supports, among multiple other objectives, the creation and
retention of employment opportunities in the rural areas of the
United States and New Hampshire, primarily through economic
development activities that benefit low and moderate income people.
USDA has awarded several RBEG grants to SEDC. These funds supported
local businesses that created quality jobs.
