SEDC has loaned or placed over $25,600,000 to businesses in the region; this has leveraged another $100,000,000. As a result of this investment, approximately 4,000 jobs have been created or retained, primarily for low and moderate income persons, and an equal number of jobs have been supported indirectly.
Through innovative strategies, creative financing and effective partnering, SEDC has assisted many businesses with meeting their expansion, retention, creation, relocation, recruitment and renovation goals. The result: corresponding increases in the regional tax base, and the securing of new and existing employment opportunities.
