SEDC Participates in Relaunch of Seacoast Manufacturers Exchange

SEDC Executive Director Dennis McCann, Governor Kelly Ayotte, and regional business leaders at the Seacoast Manufacturers Exchange event in Rochester NH, April 2025.

The Strafford Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), represented by Executive Director Dennis McCann, joined Governor Kelly Ayotte and regional business leaders at the Seacoast Manufacturers Exchange on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The event, hosted at Laars Heating Systems in Rochester and sponsored by the City of Rochester, marked the return of a meaningful regional gathering focused on strengthening New Hampshire’s manufacturing community.

A Day of Connection and Collaboration

The Exchange brought together a mix of manufacturers, city officials, business resource providers, and economic development organizations from across the Seacoast. Attendees had the opportunity to build connections, learn about available services, and share ideas for growth.

SEDC Executive Director Dennis McCann joined the panel discussion, which was led in part by Governor Kelly Ayotte. The conversation centered on what’s working in the region and how local partnerships can better support long-term business success.

“The Exchange provides a vital opportunity for area businesses to become aware of each other and their operations,” McCann said.
“It also was an opportunity for businesses to meet the business services and agencies and see and hear what is available to them.”

A Renewed Focus on Regional Strength

Governor Ayotte emphasized the importance of protecting the New Hampshire Advantage while addressing current challenges with focus and care.

“The Governor led discussion by getting parties refocused on the NH Advantages, and assuring the group that threats to the Advantage were not being ignored but addressed in a careful way,” McCann added.

SEDC’s Role in Advancing Local Business

SEDC’s presence at the event reinforced its commitment to helping local businesses access the resources and relationships they need to grow.

“For SEDC, this was an efficient way to re-establish old customer contacts and make a few new ones,” McCann said.
“An amazing amount of business was conducted with the blend of structured and unstructured time. Many thanks to Rochester for re-establishing this event so successfully.”

The Seacoast Manufacturers Exchange is expected to continue as a platform for dialogue, networking, and idea-sharing among manufacturers, partners, and policymakers across the region.
