SEDC Welcomes Heather Ward to Board of Directors
Strafford Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is pleased to announce the election of Professor Heather Ward, a faculty member at the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law, to its Board of Directors. Heather, who resides in Durham, NH, officially joined the Board in the final quarter of 2024, bringing extensive legal experience, academic insight, and a strong commitment to public service and community leadership.
Heather’s professional background includes her current work in civil litigation at Getman, Schultess, Steere & Poulin, PA. Prior to her civil practice, she served for eight years as a staff attorney with the New Hampshire Public Defender, where her work extended to the Appellate Defender Program handling appeals before both the New Hampshire Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. Earlier in her career, Heather clerked for Associate Justice James Duggan at the New Hampshire Supreme Court, as well as in the New Hampshire Superior Courts.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Heather has demonstrated a strong dedication to education and nonprofit leadership, having served as President of the Seacoast Charter School Board of Directors.
Heather’s election reflects SEDC’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its leadership team and supporting the economic growth and resilience of communities throughout New Hampshire.
This election coincides with the transition of long-serving Board Member Marcella Perry to the role of Director Emeritus. A dedicated news post celebrating Marcella’s contributions will be shared soon.
