SEDC Welcomes Susannah Chance to Board of Directors

Strafford Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is pleased to welcome Susannah Chance to its Board of Directors. A resident of Gilmanton, New Hampshire, Susannah was elected in the second quarter of 2025 and brings extensive human resources and workforce leadership experience to SEDC.

Susannah joined Leddy Group and Work Opportunities Unlimited in 1996. Since then, she has progressed through leadership roles including Regional Vice President, Vice President of Human Resources, and Senior Vice President of Human Resources. On October 7, 2026, Leddy Group announced her promotion to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). In that role, she leads all human resources functions and Leddy Group's HR Consulting division. She also oversees payroll for more than 500 employees across nine states and more than 30 markets.

Susannah's leadership also extends across New Hampshire's business and community organizations. She serves as Vice Chair of the Bank of New Hampshire Board of Directors and on the Executive Board of the Business & Industry Association of New Hampshire (BIA), where she chairs the Workforce and Labor Policy Committee. She also chairs the New Hampshire Workers' Compensation Classification and Rating Appeals Board and serves as President of the Gilmanton Iron Works Library Association.

Her professional expertise includes supervisory and coaching training, succession planning, conflict resolution, and navigating complex workplace challenges. Businesses already working with SEDC or exploring its financing and other resources may also be hiring employees, expanding operations, or planning leadership changes. That background gives the Board insight into the workforce and organizational challenges facing those businesses.

Since joining the Board, Susannah has taken on an important role in SEDC's leadership transition, serving as Chair of the Search Committee for the organization's next Executive Director.
